These gems are machined to precisely fit the preload adjuster cap on all modern 24mm spindle Shimano cranks. The finger spline offers good leverage to install, remove, or adjust the preload cap. We also added a 5mm hex in the center should you need a little extra leverage that a hex key provides. These are also compatible with our fit kits and with the addition of a saddle height bullet can be used to more accurately measure saddle height.

Suspension service is a specialty within bicycle repair, and it takes specialized tools to perform this work. One of the things that any factory tech will tell you is nice to have are sockets specifically made or altered for the low profile hex on the top of each fork leg. The lead-in or chamfer on a standard socket will greatly decrease the contact between tool and part and can easily scratch or deform those nuts. For years shops have been grinding down their sockets to remove the chamfer. The problem is that you're still often left with a loose-fitting socket that is still prone to chewing up those delicate parts. That's why we started from scratch. We made our sockets from billet aluminum to exacting tolerances to keep these parts in good shape. Fully CNC-machined with zero lead-in, they make the specialty that is suspension service a little bit easier. They feature a 3/8" square drive for use with your favorite torque wrench as well as finger splines to help run the top caps into the fork legs with those oil soaked hands. With thru axles becoming more and more common, the original Crombie tool was due for a makeover. We took the piloting pin and plus-sized it to work with the 12mm thru axle fitment that is actually standardized. We make this version as a dual-sided tool with two S Group ends, one for thru axle wheels and the other for regular hubs. The regular side has a hole deep enough to hide a skewer nut; it's really the best of both worlds. This SUPER LIGHT version has a hollow handle to save weight for the traveling mechanic. Park Tool's Bottom Bracket Bearing Tool Set removes and installs (with a bearing press which is sold separately) BB86, BB90, BB92 and Press Fit bottom brackets from Shimano, Race Face, SRAM and others that use a nominal 24mm-diameter spindle.
