A Top Priority
Advocacy is one of our top priorities at Bikesport. We are very active in both our local and national cycling communities. Please take a minute to learn about the causes we support and the organizations that represent them.
League of American Bicyclists
The League of American Bicyclists supports cyclist commuters and road riders. They work to keep road cycling in Pennsylvania safe as well as promote cycling as a sport and mode of transportation. Our association with the LOAB allows us to be involved in locally educating cyclists and ensuring safe riding on our Pennsylvania streets and roads.

National Bicycle Dealers Association (NBDA)
Our membership with the NBDA helps us to keep current in the industry. They offer us seminars and events that prepare us for changes in the cycling and retail worlds.

Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia
Because Greater Philadelphia is rapidly becoming a more bicycle-friendly region, it is important for us to participate in helping this movement along. The Coalition educates cyclists about commuting (particularly within the city) and local cycling events.

International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA)
IMBA is an international MTB advocacy organization. They sponsor and organize mountain biking events and promote the industry. They raise money for and maintain trails. They even offer mountain biking insurance for individual members!

Perkiomen Valley Chamber of Commerce
We try to be very locally involved. Supporting local businesses is something that we do as much as we can because creating a safe and caring community is very important to us.

National M.S. Society
One of our biggest events of the year is the MS 150 City to Shore Bike Tour. We have been an official bike shop sponsor for 17 years. Hundreds of our customers participate in this ride every year. They love seeing our "sagwagon" on the course offering assistance to riders when needed.
Pedals for Progress
Bikesport supports a local collection held each spring by the Norristown Rotary Club for Pedals for Progress, an organization that collects used bikes and ships them to other countries, where cycling is a main mode of transportation, but bikes are rare.

PA Rails to Trails Conservancy
We have been big supporters of the Rails to Trails project because we have been fortunate enough to put the Perkiomen Trail to good use. The trail runs right through our community and connects us with the Valley Forge and Schuylkill River trails. The trail makes it possible for cyclists to ride safely for pleasure or to commute to their jobs.
