Bikesport supports, encourages, and offers various ways to cycle in and with our community.  

Weekly Group Meetups

The following is a list of bike ride meetups.  Please wear a helmet, carry water, a pump, spare tube, and have your bike in good working order.   Please ride carefully and respectfully.  Signing a waiver will be required.

Every Sunday9 a.m.MTB Ride - meet at Knight Road parking lot, ready to ride at 9 a.m. All levels welcome, but a mountain bike in good working order is required, as well as helmet and water. Watch this space for updates, as we will not ride when trail conditions are poor. This is a great ride for beginners, as well as experienced riders. About 1 1/2 hours on the bike. Every Wednesday4-7:30 p.m.Evening Trail Ride - All Levels. Beginning in May, meet at the Pawlings Road Parking Lot of the Schuylkill River Trail, ride the trail (becomes the Perkiomen Trail) to Moccia's Ice Cream in Schwenksville. Every Thursday5:00 PMEvening Trail Ride with Dinner - Join Perkiomen Trail Nightriders for a fun evening ride including dinner at Appalachian Brewing Co. or My Friend's Tavern. Head and Tail Lights required for this ride. Mountain or Hybrid bikes are best, and the pace is "comfortable". It's about the scenery, not the speed. This ride is 24 mi. round trip and returns to Oaks by 8 or 8:30 p.m. Note: Don't want to do the full 24 miles? Catch this ride as it passes the Collegeville Diner and meet up with it there! Every Wednesday10:00 AMSchuylkill River Trail Ride for the 50+ Rider. Meet in parking lot at Port Providence Trailhead. Every Friday 10:00 AMPerkiomen and Schuylkill River Ride for the 50+ Rider. Meet in parking lot behind Collegeville Diner(Main & 3rd). Every Tuesday6:00 PMSpirited road ride leaving Bikesport lot. 25 to 40 miles (daylight dependent). 18 to 22 mph average based on route elevation profile. Expect pavement, gravel and occasional water ice stops. I will do my best to post the .gpx file to Strava. DO: Climb at your pace (we will regroup at top). Paceline (2x please). Take your pulls (this ride a working relationship). Drop yourself (but let someone know). DON’T: Race. Cross middle lines. Put headphones in your ears. We will stop at all stops signs & follow all PA traffic laws. Our #1 goal will be to arrive back in (1) piece and anger as few motorists as humanly possible. Wheels down and rolling, from Bikesport parking lot, promptly at 6:00 pm. Helmets required. Tail-light recommended. Headlamp/blinkie recommended for first few weeks. Adding to this year's excitement is a new "pose and pedal" 2-mile scavenger hunt! And, Pedaling on the Parkway always begins with FREE tune-ups from our friends at Bike and Sol of East Greenville.
Apr 29, 2017Fleche BuffoonNew Hope, PAConducted entirely on paved roads, the Fleche Buffoon is a tribute to the Ardennes Classics. The course features 14 tough climbs and 5900' of climbing over its 74 mile picturesque rural route. An Authentic Dutch Windmill is located near the high point of the course. A post ride picnic completes the day.
May 5, 2017Spring-n2-Cycling WeekendDanville, PAAll-inclusive, 3-day tour package along the Susquehanna River. Danville lies between the charming college towns of Bloomsburg and Lewisburg. Cycle along the peaceful countryside with green landscapes and covered bridges. There is mostly rolling terrain with some challenging climbs as well as flat roads along the river. We offer a wide variety of riding distances from 15 to 65+ miles.

The ride is approximately 3 miles long, and welcomes individuals and families (kids who can ride on their own should bring their bikes, or adults can pull them by child tandem or trailer). May 20, 2017SCU Quad County MetricGreen Lane Park, Green Lane, PAStart from scenic Green Lane Park in northwestern Montgomery County, and ride 21, 31, 45, 53, 68 or 76 miles at your own pace on low-traffic back roads. The 21-mi route avoids the longest climb and is suitable for casual riders. The longer routes are on rolling to hilly terrain. Lots more including snacks, a yummy meal, SAG, and also, camping is available!
Jun 4, 2017Highlands Gran FondoButler, NJA cycling challenge that takes bicycle racing to the next level. Part personal challenge and part serious competition, the course leads riders through country roads with tough climbs and incredible scenery. Courses are offered from 30 to 100 miles.

Snack and drink is provided for registered riders at our start/finish area and at mid-ride refreshment. Support vehicles will patrol all routes offering assistance to riders if needed. Riders are provided with course maps and written directions and all routes are clearly marked. After the ride relax and feast from a broad selection of goodies, pizza and our signature gooey bite sized SHOO-FLY pies.
