May 16th - Ride of Silence - Meet at 6:30 p.m. at Trappe Center (near the abandoned SuperFresh store)

On May 16, at 7:00 p.m., the Ride of Silence will begin in North America and roll across the globe.  Cyclists will take to the roads in silent procession to honor cyclists who have been injured or killed while cycling on public roadways.  Although cyclists have a legal right to share the road with motorists, the motoring public often isn't aware of these rights, and sometimes not aware of the cyclists themselves.  The ride aims to raise the awareness of motorists, police and public officials, that cyclists are sharing our roads.

Ride with the Mayor
Join Trappe's Mayor Connie Peck on a bike ride through the borough - just for fun!
Date to be decided.

Welcome to Bikesport

Bikesport's mission is to provide a terrific bicycling experience to every customer
by providing information, education, great products,
and the best service possible.

Now in our 23rd year serving the Perkiomen Valley and beyond, we take pride
in our dedication to serving our customers in a no-hassle, friendly atmosphere where they can feel free to ask any question or pursue any style of cycling without fear of intimidation.  Every male and female staff member here is a cyclist in some form,  each bringing a different style and level of knowledge to the mix.

No commissions on our sales means no pressure to you, the shopper.  We believe we all contribute to every bike or accessory sold here and none of us could do the job without our co-workers.  We love working together.  And spending time riding and socializing outside the workplace helps keep our team together.

Being just a mile from the Perkiomen Trail, which connects to other trails like the Schuylkill River Trail, allows residents of the area a safe place to ride bikes as a family.  There are a multitude of events in our area, from charity rides like the M.S. 150 City-to-Shore Tour and the Girls with Gears Ride, to the Philly Triathlon and the TD Bank Pro Cycling Race.  We're also less than an hour from the Valley Preferred Cycling Center, a velodrome venue of indoor track racing for amateur and pro racers.

Our staff will enthusiastically help you choose the type of bike you need for your goals and riding style.  Whether you are a mountain biker, road cyclist, trail rider, triathlete, bmx'er, or enjoy family biking, you can be sure we've got a bike for your needs, as well as any accessory you might want.
Our clothing department is no slouch either.  We carry several brands that are all guaranteed to satisfy or your money back - no questions asked!  Our women's department boasts a wider variety than any in the area and our dressing room has a full length mirror that flatters.

Bikesport has proven to have the top service department in the suburban Philadlephia area.  Our service technicians boast over 50 years combined experience.   We service any make or model.

We also have a Fit Center with trained specialists who will guarantee a perfect fit of
your road bike or time trial bike.

Bike Rentals are a big part of our business as well.   Do you have a friend or family member visiting from out of town?  What better way to show them your area than to explore by bike.  We also rent helmets, bike racks for your car, child trailers and kid tandem bikes.
For those of you looking to make a purchase of a road or mountain bike, our demo program allows you to try one of these for a day or weekend.  Take it to the places you like to ride and put it to the test before  you decide to buy.

Senior citizens and Military personnel enjoy a 5% discount here too.

Look for our award-winning Bikesport mountain bike and cyclo-cross teams at area events and cheer on the Bikesport-sponsored Sunnybrook Racing road cycling team and the
Spring Mt. Launch Park Downhill Racers at
local events.   Hope to see you there!

Thank you for your bike donations!

Bikesport collected 47 bikes and 3 sewing machines!

Every year, affluent Americans buy 18 million new bicycles and discard millions of old ones, abandoning many more unused in basements, sheds, and garages. Most of these end up in our already overburdened landfills. Meanwhile, poor people overseas need cheap, non-polluting transportation to get to jobs, markets, customers, and schools. Pedals for Progress has received, processed and donated over 125,000 bicycles, 1,000 used sewing machines and $10.8 million in new spare parts to partner charities in 32 developing world countries. Pedals for Progress isn't just donating used bicycles: It's also helping developing world economies by promoting self-sustaining bicycle repair businesses.

If you have bikes to donate, our next collection will be November, 2012.  See the Pedals for Progress website for other ways you can contribute.
