The Bikesport Institute of Cycling Know-How

Although we offer a full service repair department, we are also happy to teach you how to work on your own bike.  Whether you just want a better understanding of how your bike works or if you want to be able to have a solid knowledge of all the components, we have a class for you.


2016 Winter Term Course Roster

Class Description Dates Price
The "Everything" Course Four 2-hour sessions with one of our Certified Service Technicians.  A hands-on, get greasy course for the cyclist who wants to become intimate with his/her bike.  Includes brake and derailleur adjustment; cleaning; maintenance & lubrication; chain removal, cleaning & repair; tire removal, inspection & repair, overhauling hubs, headset, and bottom bracket; truing wheels. Discounts for students on parts and tools.  Bring your bike. 4 students per class. 

Wednesdays, Feb. 3, 10, 17, 24
6:30-8:30 P.M.  


Hands On Derailleur Adjustments One 1.5-hour session Bring your bike, place it in our repair stand and learn how to have cleaner, smoother shifting, as well as knowledge about dropped chains. Bring your bike.  4 students per class.

Tuesday, Feb 9th
6:30-8 p.m.

Basic Bicycle Repairs One 2-hour session.  Learn to perform minor repairs and adjustments; cleaning, repairing, and lubricating the chain; and inspecting and repairing flat tires.  Includes road and trailside dilemmas like dropped or broken chains, tears in tire, and on the spot tubeless repair. Bring your bike. 4 students per class.

For Women:
Basic Bicycle Repairs

One 2-hour session.  Taught by women, for women.  Learn to perform minor repairs and adjustments; cleaning, repairing, and lubricating the chain; and inspecting and repairing flat tires.   Bring your bike. 6 students per class.

Go Tubeless!

A two-session course evaluating your wheels and what kind of setup you need in week 1.  Week 2 has you and the instructor setting up your wheels for your awesome tubeless experience!  Bring your wheels both weeks.  Parts not included, but discounted for students.  
4 students per class.
