Used Bikes to Sell?

Bikesport offers a bike consignment
program as a service to our customers.
If you are interested in consigning your bike
(originally purchased here, of course), please
call ahead to see if we have space. We will limit the
number of used bikes in stock to 20.
How does it work?
Once we accept your bike for consignment and help
you decide on a fair price, we'll make every attempt
to sell the bike for 3 weeks. When the bike sells, you'll
have your choice of receiving the FULL amount of the sale
in the form of a Bikesport store credit OR a check for
the sale price minus 20% commission.
If the bike doesn't sell in 3 weeks, we'll call you and ask you to pick up
the bike within 3 days (or pay hefty storage fees). We can never
promise that there is a buyer for your bike.
How can you help get a better price for your bike?
Make sure you wash the bike, even polish the frame
with car polish to make it sparkle. Replace any torn seats or
handlebar grips. Be sure the bike is tuned up and in good working order
(we can help with that).
We also have a bulletin board for used cycling items at the shop,
like car racks, etc.
Can I consign a child trailer, child tandem or baby jogger?
Yes, as long as it was originally purchased at Bikesport,
and as long as ALL the necessary hardware is included.
There is a HUGE demand for child trailers and twin baby joggers.

Care to donate a used bicycle? We support Pedals for Progress
and hold a used bicycle collection each year on the Sunday before Thanksgiving.

This year's collection will be held Sunday, November 21st from 1-4 p.m.
but we will accept donations for one week prior.

If you have one ore more used bikes taking up space in your garage, another option for getting rid of them is to donate them to Pedals 4 Progress, an organization that collects unwanted bikes and ships them to other countries, where cycling is their only mode of transportation! Bikesport will be hostng a P4P used bike collection on Sunday, November 22nd, 2009. The donation of a bicycle also requires a small monetary donation, but just think.... donating your bike to a family in need is like giving them the gift of a minivan!
