Sponsorships
![]() Topher, checking over a bike before the Lutheran Charities Ride The following organizations are sponsored by us primarily through rides and events. National M.S. SocietyOne of our biggest events of the year is the MS 150 City to Shore Bike tour. We have been an official bike shop sponsor for 17 years. Hundreds of our customers participate in this ride every year. They love seeing our "sagwagon" on the course offering assistance to riders when needed.
Pedals for ProgressBikesport hosts a collection for Pedals for Progress, an organization that collects unused bikes and ships them to other countries, where cycling is a main mode of transportation, but bikes are rare. This year our P4P event is on November 22nd. Hope you can join us!
PA Rails to Trails Conservancy
We have been big supporters of the Rails to Trails project because we have been fortunate enough to put the Perkiomen Trail to good use. The trail runs right through our community and connects us with the Valley Forge and Schuylkill River trails. The trail makes it possible for cyclists to ride safely for pleasure or to commute to their jobs. French and Pickering Creeks Convservation TrustCycling at French Creek is something that many of our customers do on a regular basis. It is only fair that if we are going to promote and participate in the use of the parks that we give them our full support. We offer support to their biggest fundraiser each year, the French Creek Iron Tour. Lutheran CharitiesLutheran Charities is a Southeastern Pennsylvania organization that supports a number of local organizations for children, families, senior citizens and more. They have an annual bike ride in Center Square every June that Bikesport supports. Look for us on the road as we offer support in the 19th Annual Lutheran Charities Steeplechase Ride this June. Carol for Heart is a local organization dedicated to educating women about Heart Disease. Four years ago, Bikesport was asked to help organize a women's cycling event. The premise of the ride was to give women the confidence to join in an organized bike ride and to challenge themselves to become fit, confident, and healthy. Girls with Gears attracted over 625 riders last April and helped raise almost $64,000 for Carol for Heart. Girls with Gears is clearly the event that Bikesport dedicates itself to the most. Mark your calendars for April 19, 2009 - and remember, men are welcomed and encouraged to attend, too!! |
